Connect Claude Code

Use this guide for the Claude Code CLI and the Code tab of Claude Desktop. For regular web or Desktop Chat conversations, use Connect Claude.

Claude Free does not include Claude Code. The CLI requires an eligible subscription or supported Console/API billing; the normal Desktop Code sign-in path uses a paid Claude subscription. Check Claude Code setup for account requirements.

Add the Monomer server to your user configuration:

Terminal window
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user monomer https://api.monomer.cc/mcp

Open Claude Code, enter /mcp, select Monomer, and authenticate through the Monomer sign-in flow. User scope makes the server available across your local projects. See Claude Code MCP configuration.

Local Desktop Code sessions share the CLI’s user configuration (~/.claude.json) and project configuration (.mcp.json). After the CLI setup above, open a local Code session and use + → Connectors to inspect or manage Monomer. See Desktop Code connectors.

Claude Code can also import connectors already configured on Claude.ai when you sign in with an active Claude subscription. That import is unavailable with API-key authentication. Check the existing connector list before adding a duplicate. See Claude Code MCP configuration.

Run the Workspace access check in the CLI or Desktop Code session you intend to use. Use common troubleshooting if login fails.

After connecting, follow Direct your agent to read resources, follow availableOperations, and fetch input schemas with monomer_describe.
