Use Overview
Overview is the first item in your Workspace’s sidebar. It shows what needs attention, the work running now, the setup steps left, and what people and their agents did recently. Overview needs the Explorer role or higher; Viewers open the Workspace in Pages instead.
Needs attention
Section titled “Needs attention”Needs attention lists problems you can act on:
- A connector that couldn’t refresh, with the cause. Owners see Fix connector; others see which Owner to ask.
- A dashboard with draft changes waiting to be applied, with who changed it and through which app. Choose Review draft to check and apply it; see Review and apply dashboard changes.
- Up to three of your own Explore runs that failed in the last 24 hours, with the cause and Open in Explore.
If some checks couldn’t load, select Retry.
Watch running work
Section titled “Watch running work”While Explore runs, dashboard runs, or Catalog refreshes are running, Live activity appears below Needs attention. It shows how many are running and lists up to five of them, each with its title, who started it and through which app, its state, and how long it has run. Select a row to open the question, dashboard, or Catalog. A run that just finished keeps its row and final state for a minute while other work is still running. When nothing is running, the section isn’t shown.
When more runs are going than the section lists, it shows how many it is showing. Select View all runs to list them all, search them, and filter them by the person responsible.
Get started
Section titled “Get started”Get started shows six setup steps and how many are done:
- Connect a data source
- Choose tables to load
- Describe a table as a semantic model
- Turn a measure into a metric
- Ask a question in Explore
- Connect an agent
In a Workspace without a connector, Organization Admins see two ways to begin: Connect your warehouse and Explore sample data. The second sets up Acme Cloud (sample), a separate Workspace with a fictional SaaS company’s read-only data, shared metrics, and four dashboards, and opens it when it is ready; afterwards the button reads Open sample workspace. The sample’s Overview lists its dashboards under Start with a dashboard. See Start with sample data.
Steps 1 to 4 are checked off when the Workspace has what they need, such as a connector or a metric. Steps 5 and 6 are personal: you must have run a question or query in Explore yourself, and one of your own agent connections must be unrevoked and have been used. Only the current step has a button that opens the right screen; if your role can’t complete it, it says who to ask instead. Select Hide to hide the section for yourself in this Workspace, in this browser. Quick start walks through the same steps.
Recent activity
Section titled “Recent activity”Recent activity lists recent changes and runs in the Workspace, newest first. Each row shows what happened, its state, who did it, and when. Choose a filter:
- All: everyone’s work.
- Mine: only your work, such as your recent Explore runs and the dashboards you changed.
- Agents: only work done through an agent.
Agent work puts a badge for the app on the person’s avatar. An app whose host Monomer verified as claude.ai, chatgpt.com, or cursor.com shows the Claude, OpenAI, or Cursor logo. Any other app shows a terminal badge and, under the person’s name, the host Monomer verified for it, such as agents.acme.dev, or its name when it has no host. Work recorded before Monomer kept app names reads agent. Hover the badge to see the app and its host, for example via Claude (claude.ai). Monomer never picks a logo from the name an app gives itself. Scheduled runs read Scheduled, and runs started by a visitor to a public Page read Public reader. Select Load more activity to see older entries, or View all activity to open the Activity page with the same filter.
Activity
Section titled “Activity”Activity, below Pages in the sidebar, lists everything people and their agents did in the Workspace: what is running now at the top, then finished runs and changes, newest first. Agent work is listed under the person the agent works for, with the app’s badge on their avatar. Use All, Mine, and Agents as in Recent activity. The filter is part of the page address, so you can share the view with your team. Select Load more activity to see older entries.
Agents read the same record through the provenance fields described in Direct your agent.
